Indications and clinical uses. Altrenogest is indicated to suppress estrus in animals to facilitate induction of normal estrous cycle activity. It is used in mares to facilitate scheduled breeding activity. It is also used to suppress estrous behavior in performance horses.

Dogs and Cats. Systemic amikacin is used to treat serious gram-negative infections. It is usually given once a day, because it is a concentration dependant antibiotic. Amikacin may be combined with other antibiotics to provide coverage for gram positive bacteria.
