Ceftiofur Sodium is the sodium salt form of ceftiofur, a semisynthetic, beta-lactamase-stable, broad-spectrum, third-generation cephalosporin with antibacterial activity. Ceftiofur binds to and inactivates penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) located on the inner membrane of the bacterial cell wall. Ceftiofur Sodium is the first poultry specialized of the third generation Cephalosporin in the world, it has the extensive use in the world, it is very popular for farmer. Ceftiofur Sodium is act on transpeptidase and interfere the composition of bacterial cell wall, it appears bactericidal effect. Compare with other antibiotic, the distinctive part of Ceftiofur Sodium is the content in invasive tissue, it is higher than noninfectious tissue of 2 to 4 double, it is presented in a target concentrating distribution, play a drug effect. Therefore, Ceftiofur Sodium is one of the most powerful germicidal antibiotic in the market now.
Ceftiofur Sodium has the advantages of lasting drug effect. It can reversible combine with protein in animal’s body, developed to germicidal stock. Because of wide antimicrobial spectrum, it has the bactericidal effect to each kinds of Gram-negative bacteria (like Colibacillus,Salmonella,Pseudomonas Aeruginosa),Gram-positive bacteria ( like Staphylococcus) and the bacteria which can produce toβ-lactamase. The molecular structure of Ceftiofur Sodium is stable, it will not destroy by β-lactamase, so it will not become resistant or cross resistance, it will be widely used in the field of veterinary medicine. Intramuscular injection of Ceftiofur Sodium absorb rapidly, but excrete slowly. tl/2: cow is 7.12, sheep is 2.83, pig is 6.77hours.After dosing, it will excrete in the urine and feces within 24 hours.

Indication:It is used to cure animals’ respiratory disease,Urinary system disease,Soft tissue disease and the protection of postoperative complication which caused by sensitive bacteria of Ceftiofur Sodium.
