It is indicated for the treatment of skin infections (pustular dermatitis, abscesses, infected wounds [including bite and fight wounds]), upper respiratory tract infections (tonsillitis, laryngitis), metritis, and secondary bacterial infections associated with the canine distemper-hepatitis complex. Lincomycin,antibiotic drug used in human and veterinary medicine, primarily against gram-positive pathogens, and not effective against gram-negative bacteria such as Neisserie gonorrhoeae or Neisseria meningitidis, also used against susceptible strains of streptococci, pneumococci, and staphlylococci which usually can also be treated with penicillin or erythromycin.
