Oxfendazole is a broad spectrum benzimidazole anthelmintic. Its main use is for protecting livestock against roundworm, strongyles and pinworms. Oxfendazole is the sulfoxide metabolite of fenbendazole. Oxfendazole is an anthelmintic compound used in veterinary practice. Oxfendazole, the sulfoxide form of fenbendazole, is a broad spectrum benzimidazole anthelmintic used against roundworms, strongyles and pinworms for sheep, cattle, goats, and swine. It is a white to grey powder; insoluble in water, slightly soluble in acetone, chloroform, Ether and methanol. Its chemical designation is [5-(phenylsulfinyl)-1H- benzimidazol-2-yl] carbamic acid methyl ester.
